Invitation to become Liturgical Ministers
Sharing Opportunities to Become Co-Workers in the Vineyard of the Lord
In Preparation for Regular Filipino Young Adult Mass at the Filipino Chapel
CFYA (Catholic Filipino Young Adults) welcomes you and shares with you another opportunity to become co-workers in the vineyard of the Lord.
A special invitation is extended to all Filipino young adults to become Liturgical Ministers at the Filipino Chapel in New York in preparation for the regular Filipino Young Adult Mass.
The Ministry of the Altar Server
To be an Altar Server is not only to serve the priest by helping him preside over the liturgy but to serve the congregation by helping everyone to worship and celebrate in the best way possible. It is also worth noting that first and foremost it is a service to our Lord; an opportunity to take an essential role in the most sacred celebration of our Catholic Faith.
The Ministry of the Reader
According to the Introduction to the Lectionary, “the Sacred Scriptures, above all in their liturgical proclamation, are the source of life and strength…Love of the Scriptures is therefore a force reinvigorating and renewing the entire People of God” (#47). The Assembly truly requires readers. This ministry is comprised of suitable lay people responsible in proclaiming the Word of God through the act of reading the Liturgy of the Word.
The Ministry of Hospitality
The Ministers of Hospitality is the first official representative of the community that worshippers meet. It is a ministry of genuine joy and care for others all centered in Christ. It is an expression of reverence for the presence of Christ in each member of the congregation. It is more than simply being friendly or sociable but nurturing Christian love and concern for our brothers and sisters in Christ. Among many important responsibilities include: directing and facilitating processions, collecting the monetary offering, overlooking the physical aspects of the chapel space (temperature, if doors are to be closed or opened, lighting, etc), monitoring the cleanliness and readiness of the chapel for the services, distributing the bulletin, welcoming and seating guests, and responding to emergencies. Truly it is a ministry of love for the people of God.
FREE TRAINING AND INDUCTION WILL BE HELD AT THE CHAPEL OF SAN LORENZO RUIZ DE MANILA. PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR NAME, CONTACT INFORMATION, AND WHAT MINISTRY YOU FEEL YOU ARE CALLED TO BE INVOLVED WITH TO REYNOR 848.203.9490 REYNOR@KATOLIKO.ORG.
